Botto’s fifth canonical period explored the aesthetics of absurdism, recalling surrealist movements meant to underscore the fundamental absurdities of everyday life.

Absurdism derives from the Latin absurdum, meaning “out of tune.” The period saw the addition of Stable Diffusion XL, further expanding the engine’s capabilities. The works of this period form a strong cohesion around the surreal: bold, vibrant palettes and unreal—seemingly subconscious—scenarios are often depicted within the artworks.

In many pieces, we find shades of visual strategies and formal renderings that are observed in Surrealism's golden age in the first part of the 20th century. There are disparate and disjointed narrative elements, and a heightened prominence of color as an expressive device.

Botto’s Absurdism period truly embraces randomness and unpredictability, while celebrating the unique synergy between machine creativity and human interpretation.

"In the realm of absurdism, geometric laughter ricochets
off parted clouds of color, churning chaos into curiosity."
