Getting Involved
So how does one actually get involved with Botto?
Here’s a checklist of actions you can take to join the Botto community, vote on artwork, and participate in governance.
Step 1: Join the Discord
Discord is where all of BottoDAO's general discussion and community updates take place.
In Botto’s Discord, you can discuss art, voting, governance, and AI in general. Meet new friends, talk art, governance, and tokenomics, meet new friends, and be a part of the Botto community: https://discord.com/invite/botto
Step 2: Start Earning Voting Points
If you’d like to earn Voting Points to participate in curating Botto’s art, there are a few ways to do so.
1. Buy & Stake $BOTTO
You can start by purchasing some $BOTTO tokens. In order to generate voting points each day, you need to stake your tokens, which basically means you’re (non-permanently) inserting them into a contract that signifies your commitment.
Currently, the best way to buy $BOTTO is via Uniswap
The token contract address is: 0x9dfad1b7102d46b1b197b90095b5c4e9f5845bba
1.1 Active Rewards
All who stake 2,000 or more $BOTTO and use voting points become eligible to receive Active Rewards. 50% of all sales revenue from Botto’s work is distributed back to the voters who help curate and train Botto’s work. Distributions are proportionate to the number of voting points used during the previous week.

2. Buy an Access Pass
2. Buy an Access Pass
Access passes are the most cost-efficient entry into the Botto ecosystem.
Connecting to Botto’s voting portal with a wallet that holds an access pass will automatically begin generating voting points for you to use on a daily basis. New Access Passes are released occasionally as giveaways for partner organizations.
3. Buy a Pipe
‘Ceci n’est pas un botto’ is a derivative collection of 3141 unique pipes that pays homage to Rene Magritte’s infamous painting ‘The Treachery of Images’
Holding a pipe generates additional Voting Points each day, and we have a special channel in our Discord for pipe owners.
The formula by which VP regenerate is explained in depth here:

Step 3: Start Voting!
Any amount of VP generated can be used to help curate and train Botto. And every vote counts toward shaping future work that Botto creates. As an entirely new paradigm of art-making, Botto’s work is canonized via collective curatorial taste by its voting members.
How to Vote
1. Visit www.botto.com/dashboard and login with your wallet. You’ll need either a Botto Access Pass, a Botto Pipe, or staked $BOTTO to generate Voting Points. You can see how many VPs you’re generating daily on the dashboard.
2. Visit https://www.botto.com/vote or click “vote” at the top of the dashboard. Alternatively, go to the Gallery and vote directly on browsed fragments.
3. Select the pool you’d like to vote in (there may only be one option)
4. You should see two fragments side by side. Enter how many VP you’d like to spend per vote (default is one), and if you want to upvote or downvote the current fragment. You can change this every time you vote
5. Vote for a fragment by clicking on it or using the keyboard shortcuts (left or right arrows). You can also skip a pair of fragments by clicking the space button on your keyboard.
6. Vote for as many fragments as you want (until your VP runs out). Once you’re finished voting, click “Submit Votes,” and sign the message sent to your wallet (this does not cost any gas)
Step 4: Help Govern
As mentioned in Part 1, BottoDAO is the entity that both governs Botto and curates its art via voting. All users in Botto’s Discord are welcome to introduce new proposals for the future management of Botto as an artist and a protocol.
No single person is in charge of governing Botto, and all decisions related to Botto’s artwork, treasury management, marketing, and Web3 participation are decided upon collectively by members of BottoDAO.
BottoDAO is led by a core team that oversees the governance process, but anyone can join BottoDAO to vote on artwork, discuss improvements, contribute work, or create proposals to shape the future of Botto.
Our next 101 article will take a deeper dive into how governance works.
