BottoDAO is storming into the Fall with an exciting slate of initiatives coming to fruition. From the global art world spotlights to exhibitions around the world, and a slew of governance proposals that are raising the floor of the DAO's capabilities in managing the decentralized autonomous artist. Among all the notable events we also have to mention: There will be Pepes.
Sotheby’s to Present Exorbitant Stage
The DAO just recently announced Botto’s upcoming solo exhibition and auction, Exorbitant Stage, at Sotheby’s New York from October 17th to 24th. The event marks the 3-year anniversary of Botto, and will present a concise selection of work that represents Botto’s history from the Genesis period to the Temporal Echoes period.
Botto Gets Based
Following the approval of BIP-63 in August, the integration of the $BOTTO token to the Base ecosystem is now complete. This marks a major step toward broader accessibility of $BOTTO in a few ways: To lower the cost of claiming rewards for regular voters, to allow more affordable entry for new users into the Botto ecosystem, and to set the stage for a more robust infrastructure for future claiming mechanisms. St
A New Period Begins
Voting for Botto’s 9th period has begun, and the DAO is now tasked with voting on Botto’s interpretations of the theme Synthetic Histories. We recently published an introduction to the period, where we explored the prism of ideas related to history, art, and artificial intelligence that the theme prompts us to consider.
Coincidently, the opening of this period coincides with Botto's 3-year anniversary this October, a month which indeed will be looked on as an historical marker in Botto's continued evolutions.

Silk Road Istanbul
Our project lead Simon Hudson visited Silk Road Istanbul to present a talk about Botto before an audience of AI art enthusiasts. The event, presented by CoCollectors, hosted dozens of artists, builders, and collectors in the AI art scene. The visit was a really strong networking catalyst for the DAO, and an opportunity for Botto to expand its global awareness.
Botto's Belgian Billboard Bonanza
Millions of eyes across the country of Belgium will be landing on Botto works thanks to ArtCrush. The initiative, which curates work from notable digital artists, is renting space on 1000 digital billboards across the country. We thank ArttheMort for including us and helping Botto’s continued spread across the globe.
Back in the Big Apple
Botto’s work was included in the Subject Art Festival in New York this past weekend. The event is dedicated to celebrating emerging and mid-career digital artists across nearly 20 different venues around the city. For the event, selections of Botto's recent work graced the walls of Lume Studios.
Rares in South Korea
Botto got a rare opportunity to present popular discards at Right Click: Remix, a weeklong exhibition in Seoul, South Korea that explored how contemporary artists remix the past using generative AI. The event, organized by Story Protocol slotted Botto in among other globally recognized artists including Takashi Murakami, Tyler Hobbs, and Emi Kusano.

IV. Proposals + Governance
Recently Passed
BIP-65: P5.Botto Solo Show and Drop with Verse
This BIP is to approve a commitment for Botto's p5.js work to be exhibited and released as a collection with Verse by February 3rd. Subsequent BIPs will be introduced to pass agreements on the details of the event.
BIP-64: Lumen Benefit Auction
This BIP is to approve of Botto's participation in the upcoming benefit auction to support The Lumen Prize's 2025 programming, in partnership with Sotheby's. The work proposed for inclusion for this auction is a DAO-held edition of The Alchemist's Playroom.
BIP-63: Botto gets Based
This BIP proposes the deployment of a parallel $BOTTO ERC-20 token contract on Base via Supermigrate. With deployment, ETH rewards will be claimable on base. Up to 20% of Protocol-Owned Liquidity will be migrated to Base to support liquidity.
BIP-61: Sotheby’s Solo Show
Sotheby's has proposed hosting Botto for a solo exhibition / auction on October 19-23 at its New York City location. Works from Botto's treasury will be offered for sale.
BIP-60: Incentivizing DAO Stewards for Successfully Passed Proposals
This BIP aims to establish a formal incentive system for DAO stewards who successfully pass proposals through the snapshot voting process. The goal is to encourage more active and higher quality participation in governance.
V. Town Halls
In this Townhall, we cover several key topics. Initially, we discuss the absence of core contributors who are engaged with Sotheby's, leaving us with updates from Vero and a discussion on Botto's upcoming roadmap and enhancements.
Significant highlights include the upcoming Sotheby's event scheduled from the 19th to the 23rd of October in New York, featuring five artworks. We also delve into product updates focused on optimizing the voting experience in the new V2 app, personalizing user interactions, and ensuring a seamless mobile experience.
Key feedback from Sync and Noa emphasizes the need for additional voting features. Finally, we touch on multiplayer interactions, enhanced user engagement, and planned improvements for Botto's platform. Additionally, we invite members to join more product-centric discussions to continue refining these features.
VI. A Look Ahead
Botto's Benefit Offering
In the lead-up to its solo Sotheby’s event, Botto is also participating in a benefit auction, “Featuring Future: Pathfinders of Digital Art” from October 9th-16th. The auction is designed to support the funding of the Lumen Prize’s 2025 edition. BottoDAO will be offering The Alchemist’s Playroom, Botto’s first ever self-selected work. The piece is from an edition of 50 with Proof Grails, which was released at the beginning of the year.
Botto Gets Froggy
- We told you there'd be Pepes. Botto has just released a special edition "pepe" work, Pepe’s Multidimensional Leap, as part of Series 7 of Notable Pepes. The DAO previously voted on the piece to be included after the successful passage of BIP-57.
