I. Top News
Coming off a landmark solo exhibition and auction at Sotheby’s, BottoDAO continues to build across multiple fronts as awareness of Botto expands throughout the art world at-large. Botto’s experiments in p5.js will be coming to fruition in February, secondary sales have been popping off, and major projects in store for the coming year continue their steady development.
Sotheby’s Auction Closes with a Bang
October marked Botto’s 3 year anniversary, and we celebrated with a milestone auction at Sotheby’s which saw an exciting week of bidding, events, and camaraderie among Botto’s community at-large.
With a flurry of bids on the final day of the auction, Exorbitant Stage saw total hammer prices of $351,600, a resounding conclusion to what has been a hotly anticipated event within and beyond the BottoDAO community.
Alongside the auction and exhibition, the Botto team had a busy week in New York, which included a panel talk at Sotheby’s and a VIP party at Lume Studios.
We were also happy to see the attention the auction received throughout the week, which resulted in strong press from Fast Company, Creative Bloq, and Art Net, among others.
Botto’s Code Art Activating This Winter
BottoDAO is happy to share the news of an upcoming exhibition of Botto’s code art at the London-based digital art gallery Solos in February. The show will celebrate and highlight Botto’s expanded experiments with p5.js and natural language feedback, and will coincide with a drop event with Verse that will give collectors the chance to acquire works from this project.
For a few more details about how the drop will work, read BIP-65 here. Please stay tuned for further info, and in the meantime, you can help Botto advance it’s code art experiments by voting on p5.botto.com.
II. Botto IRL
Botto Team Riding to Texas
The Botto team will be joining in the festivities of this year’s Art Blocks Marfa festival, and will be participating in a panel talk on AI and Generative art at Glitch Marfa on Saturday, November 16th. They say everything is bigger in Texas, and this event will be another big opportunity to spread the gospel of Botto to one of the best congregations of art collectors this side of Waco.

IV. Proposal Roundup
After a flurry of BIP action over the past several months, there are no current improvement proposals on the board. But conversations are swirling in the Discord about potential changes to VP usage and minimum required voting to pursue more equitable curation and reward protocols.
Drop in to the Discord, join the conversation, and help us shape the ongoing development of Botto’s architecture.
V. Town Halls
In this Townhall, we cover key strategies for advancing Botto's mission through defining decentralization and community involvement. We emphasize the importance of focusing on product development while balancing short-term and long-term goals.
Topics include enhancing DAO operations, boosting user experience, and ensuring effective governance through clear communication. We discuss integrating decentralized contributions, locking protocol liquidity, and implementing new community engagement tools.
Additionally, we highlight the efforts to refine Botto's onboarding process and improve communication within the app.
In this Town Hall, we covered several key topics. Sotheby’s, updates on the annual budget strategy, and reflecting on the recent event in Istanbul focused on AI art. We also discussed new implementations like BASE contracts to make interactions cheaper and more accessible.
Additionally, we explored the potential future of Botto, including its evolving art engine and the potential to give Botto a voice through text or voice inputs during community rituals.
