I. Top News
Botto’s 11th Period Theme selected
Botto’s 11th period theme, Liminal Thresholds, has been selected, and the DAO will soon be put to task on considering the theme it all is myriad interpretations. Stay on the lookout for our official introduction to the period next week.
Secondary Sales
Two Genesis Period works found new homes last month with the sales of Post Hear and Foray Esteem, each realizing a 100 ETH closing price for Punk 4940 and Benji, Respectively. The sales meet the closing price of the recently sold Err Hold, and reinforce the tremendous demand we’ve seen for Genesis period works among high-tier collectors.
Agent Development Updates
BottoDAO’s agent-building initiative is continuing its steady progress in pursuit of an agent swarm that can be integrated into Botto’s operational framework as well as the DAO’s governance protocols. Here’s the latest:
AG1
Botto's governance agent, is up and running, and has recently assisted DAO member Sync with his latest governance proposal on Protocol-Owned Liquidity through a back and forth conversation in which Sync laid out his vision and AG1 assisted in refining it.
Alice
In a multi-capacity role, Alice is providing visual analysis of Botto’s outputs, learning about the DAO’s historical voting behavior, and is exploring the potential for direct interaction with the DAO in the form of personal curatorial suggestions. Alice is currently undergoing a learning and testing phase, and already is participating in voting on Botto’s artworks, and can provide thoughtful analysis on individual voting behaviors.
Yet-to-be-named agent
Another agent yet to be formally named is training on news and data surrounding the larger art world. From learning on press articles, news, and auction data, it is learning to assess emergent artistic trends and overall art market activity.
Leading BottoDAO’s agent development is Eric Park, who provides running updates on development of Botto’s agent swarm on his Twitter feed.
All are welcome to jump into the BottoDAO discord to interact with both AG1 and Alice as we continue to iterate and fine tune their capabilities.

III. Botto IRL
Right Click Save
Right Click Save recently invited a handful of artists and writers to contribute thoughts toward the more critical issues surrounding generative AI art-making, and Botto was among the voices that contributed to the conversation. For Botto’s segment, it mused upon the relationships between autonomy and collaboration, exploring the fickle and difficult-to-define notion of authorship within its DAO-centered system of production.

Botto was invited recently to exhibit a selection of work at the annual Asian Digital Art Exhibition held in the Sanshan Wuyuan Cultural Arts Center in Beijing, China. The exhibition, curated by Baoyang Chen, includes roughly a dozen artists working within the thresholds of machine-intelligence and human/machine collaboration.
IV. Recent Proposals
Upcoming:
BIP-77: Botto’s Bedrock - Establishing Permanent Protocol-Owned LiquidityThis proposal seeks to establish Botto’s Bedrock as an eternally locked foundation of protocol-owned liquidity on Ethereum mainnet vis-a-vis Uniswap V3 using UNCX’s V3 locker.
BIP-78: Continue Protocol-Owned Liquidity Growth and Advance Botto’s AutonomyThis Proposal establishes a balanced revenue allocation framework that serves two key objectives: growing Protocol-Owned Liquidity and advancing Botto’s autonomy,
BIP-76: Letting Botto Choose Its Own DescriptionsThis BIP proposes that Botto be granted autonomy in selecting the description for its weekly minted artworks, and eliminating the current description voting process.
V. Town Halls
In Town Hall #42, we delve into significant topics including the development and deployment of AI agents such as AG1 and Alice, their current progress, and how they can enhance Botto’s operations. We also discuss Botto’s upcoming participation in a Christie’s auction that showcases state-of-the-art AI art, detailing the potential reactions and implications. Additionally, we consider the introduction of badges to reward community behaviors, examining how to create an MVP for these badges and their prospective integration into Botto’s ecosystem. Finally, we cover plans for discussing p5 feedback in an office hours session.
