The BottoDAO recently approved BIP-12, where the community vetted the introduction of Access Passes, a new approach to onboarding members to the Botto community.
Voting on the art is the heartbeat of Botto. It is the way the community expresses its taste to the AI and contributes to the evolution of its artistic expression; and also the way the Decentralized Autonomous Artist decides what becomes art — what transcends beyond the drafting process of generating fragments and turns into a final, minted artwork worth collecting.
Botto needed a streamlined way for users to access the experience of training the AI. One that did not involve an immersion in the depths of crypto, but at the same time, that could eventually attract people into becoming Bottonians with full governance rights and a larger say in curation.
Access Passes are mintable assets that provide regenerating Voting Points to its owners. They are designed to become the first point of entry for new users attracted by the artistic and technical breakthroughs of the Decentralized Autonomous Artist — those interested in becoming stewards of the AI and co-authoring the chapter Botto is writing in the history of human and machine collaboration for the purpose of artistic expression.
But Access Passes also open the doors to full participation in Botto. The new economic model approved by the community through BIP-14 gives Access Pass owners the possibility to earn their way into full membership. A freshly deployed “Incentivized Onboarding Contract” creates incremental rewards in $BOTTO linked to voting behavior. Access Pass owners can thus become full rights members and acquire all the benefits of being a Bottonian, including artistic rewards reserved for holders and stakers, and governance rights.
There are two types of Access Passes:
- Botto Access Passes, available for purchase for a nominal price on the Botto app. These Access Passes are free to $BOTTO stakers.
- Community Access Passes. BottoDAO is reaching out to communities that are closely aligned with Botto’s vision. These community Access Passes are free to mint as a participant of the respective community. The CyborgDAO and the SuperRare community are our first partners in this new initiative, with more communities currently being onboarded.
Botto V2 is here and Access Passes are an essential ingredient in Botto’s second coming. This new onboarding mechanism will welcome a new generation of Bottonians, equipping them with the power to push boundaries in art.
